You-know-who has decided he will probably do you-know-what. I sent the cheque for the Santa Barbara Invite, and called Cultimate about getting us into Trouble in Vegas, which should work out. I'm still hittin the gym and running stairs with Sam. We're in for a rough season. We have a lot of injuries, and nebulous leadership.
I told Sam I thought we had a 90% chance of having a building season, and a 10% chance of it being epic.

I think that a reflection on the potentially complimentary relationship between [commitment to team, improvement, conditioning, and excellence], and [commitment to team-wide camaraderie and chemistry] would be very helpful. A specific manifestation of this might be to form players into small groups with mixed friendship circles. These groups would hold each other accountable for conditioning. I think that this would create a lot more accountability than the current situation of the google doc in which non-conditioners can hide behind the rest of the team. It might be a good idea to put one workout warrior in each group. As someone who has always had trouble getting motivated to condition, I have always done better when I had a date set with someone, or someone to invite me along for a workout.
Food for thought.
Let me know what the tournament situation is when you get it figured out.
